I know you’d have some questions for me if we were sitting down and having a face-to-face conversation. Since we’re not, I’m going to try to answer some of those questions here.
Who do you write for?
I focus on writing for the personal development and lifestyle industries. I've also worked with clients in healthcare, law, data management, and education.
What are your qualifications and what kind of experience do you have?
I have sought out opportunities to write both personally and professionally since high school. I first started writing at work when I was a radio station intern at age 17, drafting station “liners" (one-to-two line promotions). Since those early days I’ve written a wide variety of promotional materials for businesses including brochures, press releases, proposals, website content, social media content, newsletters, sales letters and other direct mail, and blogs. I’ve also repurposed my personal writing into professional writing, turning a travel blog into a newspaper column.
I’m an active member of American Writers and Artists, Inc., the industry leader in copywriting training. Through AWAI’s courses, I have learned best practices for writing copy across a variety of platforms including direct mail, email, websites, and social media—and I bring this knowledge to every piece I write. As a member of AWAI’s Circle of Success program, I have ongoing access to and support from some of the world’s most eminent copywriters.
Not only do I know copywriting, but I know self-improvement. Its possibilities have fascinated me since the time my father taught me some Silva Method mind control techniques when I was around seven years old. As someone who loves researching and learning, I’ve been a consumer of personal development products for many years. My own quest for betterment has led me to study new skills on my own, take adult education classes, work with business coaches, earn advanced degrees, and travel the world. In the course of doing these things, I have studied promotional materials for countless personal development products and services. I’ve developed a critical eye for what works and what doesn’t. I am able to spot self-help companies’ and personal coaches' profit gaps—that is, where you are leaving money on the table—and can help you figure out how to fill those gaps and maximize your earnings and growth, particularly by nurturing your customers and leads.
I also do some writing for the hospitality business. At one point in my career, I was planning and executing one event per week, which taught me a lot about the industry. I still maintain several close contacts who work in food and beverage and event management. And I am an avid traveler and gourmet who has been to hundreds of hotels, venues, and restaurants worldwide. Hence I also know and love the hospitality business, and I work with companies in that industry to help them gain customers and maximize their marketing ROI.
As a marketer who's also a lawyer, I love helping my clients create new proof pieces (for example, case studies and testimonials) and inject more proof into their existing marketing materials. Step by step, we build a strong case for your product or service. Using proof creates buyers who educate themselves before buying, are pleased with the purchase, are unlikely to return it, and will probably buy from you again.
What types of projects do you do?
In terms of types of copy, I focus primarily on online marketing: email campaigns, social media, website content, landing pages, special reports, advertorials, newsletters, video scripts, and blogs. News releases and press releases are also part of my business, but I write all types of direct-response copy and content. What do you have in mind? Contact me and I'll send you my Investment Schedule.
Do you offer consulting services?
Yes, in addition to writing, I offer other complementary services. Are you looking for some guidance with your marketing? Let me help you strategize, develop, and execute your idea, whether it’s something you’re working on from scratch, or already in progress. My clients appreciate that I consult on an hourly basis, with no retainers or minimums required.
I also provide website and social media audits. Audits are great for when you don’t want to reinvent the wheel but are looking to increase your ROI. I review your current website and/or social media profiles and make recommendations on how to improve them to maximize your engagement, conversion rates, and profitability. Sometimes this entails using SEO, but not necessarily. Like every project, it varies on an individual basis.
Your fee schedule contains a price for a “copy critique.” What is that?
If you have pre-existing marketing materials that you are simply looking to polish and perfect, I’m happy to critique them and suggest ways to make them more powerful. Whether it’s website copy, a letter to the editor, or anything in between, I will help you fine-tune your message to make it more persuasive. My copy critique services also include proofreading and editing to maximize clarity and eliminate errors. I honed these skills as the Executive Editor of my law school law review. Having learned to improve a highly specialized type of writing has made me very comfortable revising all kinds of copy.
What is a key message copy platform and why do I need one?
A key message copy platform is a comprehensive marketing blueprint—ideally, the first item created for any marketing campaign. It serves as the master document which contains all of your messaging about a particular product or service. Your marketing efforts can then be checked against this blueprint to ensure that you are conveying your desired messages to your customers and prospects. Having a key message copy platform will help keep your messaging on target even if you change vendors or marketing methods. It is highly flexible, reusable over and over again, and one of the best investments you can make in your marketing.
Speaking of fees, how much do you charge?
My Investment Schedule provides some general pricing estimates for various types of copywriting projects. But for every project, I provide a custom quote based on whatever you have in mind. My price quotes are all-inclusive, so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting in return for your investment.
Part of my quotation process involves us discussing your business, your needs, and your goals. This helps me figure out how this particular marketing piece fits into your overall plans and how I can be most valuable to you. The best way for me to help you increase your profits is to be well-informed from the very beginning.
Who have you worked with, and what do they say about you?
Here are a couple of quotes from satisfied clients:
“I'm really pleased to be working with Candice again and highly recommend her for any marketing/sales/copywriting projects. She'll get the job done well AND you're sure to enjoy working with her.”
- Lori Jo Vest, LJV Consulting
“Your recent blog posts have been excellent and the analytics for the last few weeks show a noticeable improvement in unique page views. We appreciate all your hard work!”
- Dan Tamaroff, Tamaroff & Tamaroff, P.A.
How long will it take you to write my copy?
Some projects may take only a couple days; others will require more time. How long it will take depends on the scope of your project. However long it takes, I factor in enough time to research, polish, edit and revise until we are both happy with every word.
I realize that there are times when you need your project finished quickly. If you’re in a rush, let me know how soon you need it. I’ll do my best to fit it into my schedule. If I am able to take on the job, I guarantee that you will have your completed copy by the deadline—if not sooner. And no matter when it’s due, I assure you the copy I provide will be right. My word is my bond.
What is your policy about revisions?
Let me know what you’d like changed and I will make those revisions—fast. The flat fee that we agree to for your assignment includes TWO ROUNDS OF REVISIONS AT NO CHARGE so long as they are requested within 30 days of your receipt of the copy from me and there are no changes to the original assignment. Most clients are pleased with my copy when they receive it and are eager to “put it out there.” On the off chance that you are not completely satisfied, I will revise the copy based on your feedback—at my expense.
How can I order from you?
Putting me to work for you is easy. A phone call to 786.629.6323 or an email to firstname.lastname@example.org will get us going. We’ll discuss what you’re looking for and I’ll let you know what I need to help give me the background to write your copy.
Once you give me the go-ahead, I’ll write the assignment, and you will receive your completed copy on or before the deadline. And remember: my work is 100% guaranteed.
A variety of companies have used my copy to help promote their businesses. They enjoy working with an experienced marketer who is on time, efficient, reliable, and driven to produce. So—how about trying my services for your next email campaign, social media campaign, website build-out, newsletter, brochure, or advertorial? You have nothing to lose, and I promise you’ll be thrilled with the results.
And if you have a copywriting project that you’ve been wanting to get off your desk, contact me right away so I can help you get it managed and you can move on to other things.
